Raising Awareness Funds: Focused on Suicide Prevention

GALLIPOLIS — An annual hometown concert by Gallia resident and singer-songwriter Devin Henry continued online this year, with the proceeds going to Gallia Citizens for Prevention and Recovery’s (CPR) Suicide Prevention Committee.

“I think it’s important that we live in area where mental illness and mental health is not something that’s thought about,” Henry said. “One of the biggest messages that I wanted my show to say is that I want everyone to know that it’s okay to not be okay.”

The concert series, called “Hometown Event,” first began in 2018.....

‘You matter’ at Hometown Event 2

GALLIPOLIS - It's OK to not be OK.

Following the suicide death of a close friend, and other peers in recent years, local singer songwriter Devin Henry is organizing the Hometown Event 2 to support mental health and suicide prevention initiatives in Gallia County.

Set for 6 p.m., this Saturday, April 20 at the Colony Club in Gallipolis, Henry will be live with his band, performing cover songs as well as originals. Joining him will be opening acts Dillon Jarrell, Jacob Gilmore and more. The emcee for the night is Melissa Davis.....

‘Fallin’ this Christmas’

GALLIPOLIS — Gallipolis In Lights at City Park was the inspiration for a new Christmas song and is featured in a music video – both pieces created by local artists utilizing local attractions and homegrown talent.

Musician Devin Henry recently wrote a new song “Fallin’ this Christmas”, which was heavily inspired by his hometown of Gallipolis.

“When I wrote this song, I was sitting in class, and in writing this song all I could keep in my mind was the City Park and the awesome things we have in Gallipolis,” said Henry. “When I wrote this song I kind of wrote it in a way that revolved around the park lighting.”.....
